Paris Orly Airport

Paris, France

Where to start
Metro Line 14

Since June 2024, Metro Line 14 runs direct from Orly to central Paris (~25 min to Châtelet, on to Gare de Lyon) — fast, cheap, and the easy new default. For door-to-door, Paris airport taxis charge a flat regulated fare (a set price to the Left Bank, slightly higher to the Right Bank — luggage and passengers included), or use Uber/Bolt from the signposted “VTC” zone (app pricing). The Orlybus and Orlyval + RER B are good public alternatives; the Tram T7 is cheapest but slow. Use only the official taxi rank, not touts.

Pickup Guidance

Rideshare

Uber and Bolt (VTC) use dedicated ride-hailing pickup zones signposted “VTC/Ride-hailing” outside each terminal — a different spot from the taxi rank. Pricing is app-based (not flat); card payment. Verify the plate.

Taxi

Official taxi ranks outside each terminal's arrivals charge a flat, regulated fare to central Paris — a set price for the Left Bank and a slightly higher one for the Right Bank, luggage and passengers included, no time-of-day supplement. Use only the official rank, never a tout inside the terminal.

Shuttle

The Orlybus runs direct to Denfert-Rochereau (~30 min, every ~10–20 min); pre-booked shuttles also depart from the arrivals-level stops.

Transit

Metro Line 14 runs direct from the airport station (at Orly 4) to Olympiades, Châtelet (~25 min), Gare de Lyon and Saint-Lazare — from Orly 1-2-3 take the free Orlyval first. Orlyval + RER B (via Antony) is an alternative into central Paris. Tram T7 (from Orly 4, exit 47d) reaches Metro Line 7 — cheap but slow.

Private Transfer

Pre-booked private transfers meet you at arrivals with a name sign — fixed price, good for families, late nights, or heavy luggage.

Local Tips

  • Metro Line 14 has run direct from Orly to central Paris since June 2024 (~25 min to Châtelet) — fully automated and cheap, it's usually smarter than the older Orlyval + RER B route.
  • Paris airport taxis are a flat, regulated fare — a set price to the Left Bank and a slightly higher one to the Right Bank, luggage and passengers included with no time-of-day supplement — so they're fair value for a family of 3–4. Confirm which bank your destination is on.
  • For Uber or Bolt, follow the “VTC/Ride-hailing” signs to the dedicated pickup zone — it's a different spot from the taxi rank, and pricing is app-based, not flat.
  • Mind the curfew: Orly closes overnight (~23:30–06:00) and the Orlybus/Orlyval stop around midnight — after that it's taxi, Uber/Bolt, or a pre-booked transfer only.
  • Use only the official taxi rank outside arrivals — ignore anyone offering a “taxi” inside the terminal, as touts overcharge.
  • Tram T7 (from Orly 4, exit 47d) to Metro Line 7 is the cheapest way in, but it's slow (~80 min total) — take it only with light luggage.

Tarmyq local tip

The game-changer at Orly is Metro Line 14 — since 2024 it goes straight into central Paris in about 25 minutes, no transfer, for a few euros. If you'd rather a cab, Paris airport taxis are a flat regulated fare (and include luggage), so they're fair value for a family. Just use the official rank outside arrivals, not anyone who approaches you inside — and for Uber/Bolt, follow the separate “VTC” signs.
